Hello

I started this business as a result of becoming single myself over 2 years ago at the prime age of 53.  I tried online dating, but it just wasn’t for me.  I felt that I was being judged and judging others firstly on a quick look at their picture and then if I got past that I was swiping left because I thought they had a dodgy eye or their hair (if they had any) was parted on the wrong side!  All this before I even read their interests or some of their life stories.

 

I had left behind all the traits and qualities I really wanted to find in my new partner.  I had resorted to the superficial, fast and ruthless world of internet dating, and when I actually liked the look of a prospective date – they didn’t like me!!  I felt I was past the game playing stage where they would talk to you but at the same time talk to many others and when their favourite materialised – you were dumped ….

 

At that stage I launched my mature singles event website, and this was a particular passion of mine, being from an events background and more recently stakeholder engagement.

Anyone that has worked in corporate events will tell you that you miss the buzz and the customer, that feeling that you are making something exceptional happen for them.  

​

To compliment this, I have always had the instinct of matching friends, colleagues and acquaintances over the years.  This has now given me so much satisfaction and delight, paired with my singles event passion, it was my dream job.

With Select Connections, I have been so lucky to be able to develop a service that  works with people who are in the same position as I was and therefore able to relate to their experiences.  I am a very sincere person, who loves nothing more than meeting people and working with them to achieve that one thing that is so important to them at this time in their life.
